Whitstable is one of the best places to learn windsurfing. At low tide we have flat, shallow water and constant winds. We think we have the ultimate learning kit:
- big Starboard Start boards
- Tushingham sails
Learning has never been easier or so much fun.
To start, we do the RYA Level 1 course as one 3 hour "taster" session where we teach you to sail across the wind and turn around. This is followed by two or three 2 hour "follow on" sessions where you are taught all points of sailing to enable you to sail around a course. There is some shore based teaching as well. We believe this is a better way of learning on the sea than trying to do everything in one day. As soon as you reach the required standard we issue a Level 1 Certificate which will enable you to hire.
We are one of the new RYA Fastfwd training centres. This means we will take you on to the next levels in the shortest possible time using our special simulators and state-of-the-art boards.
We also have a range of widestyle and freeride boards, together with rigs to 8m, which are available for hire to experienced windsurfers.
