Cat supper cutoff of 11pm Wednesday

Hi All

As you have seen from Nick dewhirst’s email the cat supper tickets are not selling well at the moment.

If you are coming then you need to buy a ticket beforehand as as Wendy needs the numbers in advance.
The tickets are behind the bar and you need to either buy them in person or phone up and book with the bar.
Please note that anyone who phones up and books will have to pay even if they dont come!

So come on everyone cant let the team of Nick Dewhirst and Steve “The Judge “ down

Cat Supper

The Date for the Cat supper has been set and it is 29th Nov

Deborah Mylcrist has put a poster up by the tea counter and tickets will be for sale behind the bar

More information will be available soon but it will be in the usual tradition so think drink and the opportunity to have all your mistakes over the year to be brought out into the open.

Another email will go out once tickets are in place but please put the date in the diary

hi its helen (dart 18 6120) I’m going to Grafham this weekend but dad cant make it, so ive had to find a different helm. However it also means I’m without transport.... is anyone going and could give me a lift? i can get to where ever you are and dont mind contributing to petrol or skiving off work on friday!
if not, if anyone has room for a sailing bag that would be great because i dont fancy the tube with it and a tent!!
thanks!

Forts Race Confusion

Is it just me or am I losing it everso slightly...... ( Ledger keep quiet..!)

I have a definitive email from the F18 boss which is a cut and paste of what has been sent to him by ND.
”See attached information about the next forthcoming attraction in a fortnight - our Forts Race at WYC, which has been specially expanded to meet requests from both F18 and Tornado sailors for a day of 3 back-to-back cans races on Saturday in addition to the Long Distance event which will now be on Sunday. There will be a separate start for Tornados assuming at least 10 of you enter, which we very much hope and expect. Please pass the attachment around your fleet and visit http://www.wyc.org.uk/flattened/events_forts2008.html. The plan is to provide an opportunity on Saturday evening for further discussion about Olympic issues and as it may be very relevant to the future of the F18 it would be good if as many as possible can attend.

Now I don,t care which way round it is although I think that the long distance should be on the Saturday so that all the fit people are cream crackered for the Sunday and Abs and I can have a few extra heavies in the bar in the evening but I think it needs to be made clear on the club website which is saying the opposite.

So which won are we now going for..?

Forts Race/TT

Hi All,

The highlight of our season is fast approaching, no not a decent days sailing weather, but the Forts Race. I have read various things saying that it is now a TT event, which means round the cans racing as well as the feature race, which is great. Can anyone confirm this and on which day would the Forts Race be held, as given the crappy weather this year it would be a gamble not to have the main race on the Saturday in case Sundays was cancelled.

Cheers

To all the big cat sailors who helped out at the weekend - I can’t tell you how grateful we were. What could have been a real embarrassment (i.e. entry into the harbour) turned out to be a very impressive well-organised operation. It really is WYC at it’s best and what a team...and we didn’t upset one fisherman!!!!!

Seriously, your help was very much appreciated by all the Dart 18 sailors.
