As race Officer for the weekend I can only apologise for the lack of wind on Saturday - however the mighty one came good on Sunday with a fine breeze and excellent sailing - however I think Mondays breeze was something else - I would like to thank and congratulate the the sailors who took part in all races for both their patience and seamanship(or should that be seapersonship in these days of PC) when both were called into account in the extreme - those hanging around on Monday whilst the safety crews attended to the Mirror whose crew recovered sufficiently to return safely to the club and patiently sailing around whilst we completed setting the course.
Furthermore I would like to thank all safety boat crews who did a magnificent job over the weekend in spite of the continuing recent problems which hopefully will soon be put behind us.
Finally I would like to thank my back up team both on board Slotty Dawes and in the Bridge without you all running the racing would be ten times as hard.
Oh and just one thing ......... we misplaced a couple of anchors on Monday together with a length of chain .......... rumour has it they are about 150 metres North West of WYC’s North mark...... if there are any scuba divers in the club we would be grateful if you could retrieve them.
Many thanks to you all lets hope the rest of the season brings with it perfect sailing weather!!!!
