To start the ball rolling we are attending Looe in a Winder one string (yet to confirm which one though).
Believe Chris and Tom plus John Fish and yet to be decided crew are as well. So who is going as we may at last have a chance of taking on the Northerners with outside possibility of getting their team trophy off them tongue wink .
Await declarations with interest wink .
Bye for now

Apropos of Mark’s question: who is going?  I was rung by champs organiser Andy Dalby tonight asking the same question.  He was drumming up support but also has a worry that Looe SC has capped the entry at 80 (probably for boat parking reasons) and his research so far indicates a huge interest and a possible entry of 90+. What a great worry to have.

A quick head count of those who have already expressed an interest from Whitstable gives us 8 boats going - plus Mark!.

Hi John
We will be entering in March. JUst sorting accommodation and believe we may have the boat.

Reason for asking who is going was that yes I thought there may be a problem with boat parking and accommodation. Hence why we are doing all early.

Folks
To keep you informed, there is currently a limit of 80 boats due to boat parking restrictions and it looks as if we will exceed the number. So make sure you get your entries in ASAP or you may be on the wiating list.
Bye for now
Mark
PS ours is in the post tonight.

Evening all.
Glad to confirm Julie and me are going to Nationals (entry in the post) and we are in much better health. I’ve shaken off the African Liver Lurgy and Julie has conquered the English Hacking Cough. We managed a convalescent week on skis last week, hurtling around hairy off-piste stuff with my son Reynold coaching us. Looking forward to being fit slim sailors this year rather than fat slam dunk types. Already got the repaired Finn mast from Jacko and plan to start refit on Finn and tarting up Merlin very soon
Cheers
Mike

It is a fact we have the biggest entry for the Nationals, 9 boats. The next biggest is currently Hollingworth on 6 with only one place left.
Question is are we also good enough this year to take it to Hollingworth and beat them to their team trophy.

Markie is right. Superior numbers can prevail if we use American Football tactics.

I believe it is 3 to count so we need a first team of 3. Probably Mark, Chris and one other to be selected
by popular aclaim.

The remaining six must give up all thoughts of personal glory and just run “interference” on the Hollingsworth six.

I managed to protest out superman Richard Whitworth from race 2 at Windy Rutland last year, so it can be done. Didn’t do much good though ‘cos he won all the other races.

The question is: Do you all want to be as nasty as me?
Answers on a dirty postcard please.
