Well, another Sunday and another sunny day! Amazingly the lake wasn’t completely frozen so the hardy rigged ready for another joust…
Wind gave a better beat toward no 6 with a crowded start with boats spread down the line. Halfway up the beat your author and Lee Goodey were laying the mark and looking good. However, your author ground to a near halt ploughing through an iceberg allowing Lee clear and Sophie Mackay to close.
The long run down the lake allowed the pack to close up and after a lap your author led from Simon Northrop, Kym Leatt and Sophie. All was going well until simon and I ran out of wind in the lee of the big island, and a crafty Kym sneaked through and never looked back.
Up the next beat the wind really blew up and started to lift on starboard. Major winner was young Richard who moved into 2nd with many changes in the chasing pack.
Coming to the finish Kym was looking comfortable for another win and your author pipped Richard by less than a length for yet another 2nd. The pack came in tight formation bit I’m pretty sure Simon got 4th and Tom Goodey beat his dad after a stunning comeback.
Be interesting to see the overall results!!
