As you will have seen from your new program and this website the season is nearly upon us. grin Of course this means that the pre-season working parties need to be attended. The big cat class will be meeting up from 10am onward on the 16th March. This will mainly to do beach clearance and move the boats into their new positions (tide will be out), along with helping refill the ramp with ballast (bring a spade). wink

The plan for where your boat will go is on the board in the tea bar area where it has been for several months. As I have not received any need to change this plan this is what we will be going with. Those that paid very late for their boat parking will be moved to less favourable beach locations even though they may have sailed a lot last year by edict of the sailing committee. cool mad

Also please note. most peole will have a duty for next year in the May, June time period. Please make sure you can make your duties as it would be good to put on a good set of races and show that the big cats do know what is needed for a good race. If you cant make it please arrange a swap, if you need help, let me know.
The One other duty we are down for is to help the Dart18s with their open TT (they will be helping at our forts race/TT). This has the added complication of being Whitstable Harbour Day as well and as such we need as many big cat sailors to shift boats and trailers and get rid of cars as quickly as possible on the morning of the 20th June before the harbour is closed.

This does seem a lot but Whitstable Yacht Club is a club and the sailing side is run mainly by volunteers and if we all team up we can make very light work of these duties. please spread the word.

Don’t forget the Forts Race in September,
The round the isle of wight is happening august bank holiday
Other plans, anyone else up for carnac?
Aruba?

cheers

Toby

In case anyone finds it useful I’ve posted a comma separated file of the race schedule for this year at

http://public.dmw.fastmail.co.uk/wyc_race_schedule.csv

you can use this to load into Outlook etc.

dave.
