Strangely first to arrive was Chris Brealy which was deeply worrying. It either meant that the clocks had changed and everyone else had got it wrong or that he had a different plan for the day. It proved to be the latter and Chris (together with Peter Raymer) put in a creditable performance at the Hoo Freezer.
Meanwhile back at Westbere a dozen or so turned up, including Colin Smith, Charlie, Gary and Toby from Whitstable, hoping to get a race in before the predicted storm.
The start proved as crowded as usual, but Colin Smith and Simon Northrop got clear and rounded no6 ahead of Lee Goodey and Charlie Campion. Your author sneaked through to 3rd on the following reach to give a 3-way tussle for the lead with Colin and Simon. Despite a minor navigational challenge your author led for the 2nd lap with Simon Dodds coming through to take 2nd ahead of a fast recovering Lee, followed by Colin and Simon.
Most took their boats back to base following the race, and on return to Whitstable beach it became apparent that Nick Stevens and Christian Brewer had both turned up for abit of sneaky practice!
So it was a busy day for Whitstable Lasers in 3 locations, so with the practise done lets shoot for a strong turnout over Easter!
