Big Catamarans on Film

A couple of the WYC Big Cat Fleet have been attaching video cameras to their boats and filming themselves sail (and capsize!). Hit the links to see what sailing an F18 is like, and see if you can spot where it all goes wrong! Peter and Laurie King on F18 Shockwave: and Ghislain Melaine and Greg Crease on F18 Cirrus: More ›

There are opportunities join our race team during Whitstable Week as safety boat crew. No experience is necessary, you just have to be over 16, and happy to blast around the bay in a rib. You can do just one or two days in the week, or join a rib crew for the whole week. This is an ideal opportunity for non-sailors, friends and family to get involved in a fun week. Contact the club office if you want to give it a go.

You can put in as much or as little time as you like - it is up to you. Any help is always gratefully received by us all. The Club needs all the support it can get, to help it run effectively and efficiently so if you are able to give just a little of your time and would like to get involved then please contact Donna Hender (Vice Commodore)

The Figgis Classic rescheduled for 5th August 2012

Due to some fairly strong winds there was a low turn out for the big cat long distance race aka " The Figgis Classic" on Sunday, so the decision was made to postpone the race to another weekend so that we can hopefully get a better turn out and a decent race for the whole fleet. The race will now be held on Sunday 5th August 2012 at 14:00, a briefing will be held at 12:45 on the veranda. Please try and make it as it?s always a good fun race and also a nice sail up the Swale, hope to see you all then. Many Thanks, Laurie

Merlin Rocket Open 23/24 June - Beach Clearance

Would the owners of Lasers and the first (eastern) row of Tasars please move their boats to make space for visiting Merlins next weekend. It would be appreciated if this could be done before next Friday evening when we have a small working party organised to move the boats that remain. Having this space available really is appreciated by our visitors. Thank you very much indeed. John Cooper (MR class captain)
