Cadet and Family Session, Programme for Saturday 25 March, Start 12.00

Let’s put winter behind us. Cadet Sailing sessions start on Saturday!
In regular sessions we will have two groups. The main group is open to all, cadets and parents, who can sail a triangular course and wish to improve their sailing and/or racing expertise. If you are a beginner or not yet able to sail a triangular course the learner group (cadets only) is for you.

Both groups will be supported by safety boats and have the benefit of our fantastic team of young instructors, helpers and experienced sailing coaches. We welcome SI and racing coach Nikky Williams, and WYC sailor and instructor Peter Heyes to the coaching team.
If you are coming this Saturday please reply by email to Richard Maltby by 9pm on Thursday 23rd with the following details:
• Your name.

• Will you be sailing with the Main Group or Learner Group?

• Sailing your own boat? Please state type of dinghy.

• Or request use of a club boat?

• Sailing single handed or double handed (as helm or crew)?

• Any other comments.

Participants should arrive in good time to check the information on the white notice board posted in the forecourt, rig boats, and be changed ready to launch for the general briefing at 12.00. Cadets must be accompanied by a parent who will be asked to complete a Parental Consent Form on arrival and no Cadet (aged 8-18) will sail without written parental consent.

If you want to know more about Cadet Sailing please see the Cadet and Families page on the club web site. A printed copy of the new Cadet Handbook will also be given to each cadet or family at the session. Looking ahead please also note the dates for Cadetfest, August 21-25, for a week of day sails and fun sailing for WYC Cadets.

Any queries, please email Richard Maltby, .
