Club Champions!

Well done to everyone who sailed in the Club Championships this weekend. Almost 60 boats took part, and the racing was very close throughout the fleet, from the A-Class catamaran to the Topper 4.2s! Thanks as ever to Race Officer John Boorman and his recording and results team, Ian Embry and the Safety Boat team, and the bar and catering staff, all of whom helped put together a great weekend of sailing. The Trophy winners were:

• Dawes Trophy – for the overall club champion - Mark Barnes & Ruth Oliver sailing a B14


• 2nd Place overall - John Cooper & Hilary Bradshaw sailing a Merlin Rocket


• 3rd place overall - Rein Zilvold & Phil Scott sailing a Merlin Rocket


• 4th place overall - Phil Emery & Karen Emery sailing a Merlin Rocket


• 5th place overall - Charles Campion sailing a Laser


• 6th place overall - Kevin Hall sailing a Laser


• Ladies Cup – for first Lady helm overall - Sarah Hodges sailing a Laser Radial


• Tom Bourne Trophy – for first cadet (u 18) overall - Conor Lamb sailing a Laser Radial


• WYC Racing Shield – for first Big Cat - Steve Pimblet & Francesca Delacey sailing a Hurricane


• Sales Trophy – for first Small Cat - Robert Govier sailing a Dart 18


• Castle Cup – for first Asymmetric Skiff - Mark Barnes sailing a B14


• Johnson Cup – for first Merlin Rocket - John Cooper & Hilary Bradshaw sailing a Merlin Rocket


• Tasar Trophy – for first Tasar - Paul McNally & Julie Puckett sailing a Tasar


• General Handicap Prize – for first General Handicap boat - Mali Harnett & crew sailing a 420


• Yachting & Boating Trophy – for first Laser - Charles Campion sailing a Laser


• Laser Radial Prize – for first Laser Radial - Conor Lamb sailing a Laser Radial


• Babbington Hill Trophy – for first Slow Handicap dinghy - Robin South sailing a Topaz Uno
