Notice to competitors in club racing - Signing On and Off
Posted: Tuesday, 22 April, 2008
There seems to be some confusion over the requirement to sign on and off. To clarify:
In accordance with the club sailing instructions you are required to sign on the declaration sheet signifying your intention to race.
As a safety check, and to facilitate the production of results, you are still requested to sign off when coming ashore after a race. You should also indicate in the signing off column whether you retired, DNS etc . However, you will not be disqualified for failing to do so. This arrangement recognises that some people may wish to remain afloat after racing, to practice or for some other reason, and may not be ashore in time to sign off. It will also help the Race Officer if you indicate in advance that you will be staying out after the race.
Many thanks for your cooperation.
