Swale Regatta Report - By John Pollitt

Twenty seven cruisers took part in what was the best Swale Regatta I can recollect in years. click on the link to read report.

It would be great to see more boats taking part next year and I am hoping to rustle up crews for those who need them.

Many first timers followed the fleet round the course, keepting away from the start.  The first race took place in light conditions and sailed round the buoys in the Medway.  Queenborough Yacht Club were excellent hosts for the evening meal.

Saturdays race started from the Tripod and finished in the Swale. This involved some very close racing in a decent breeze with a good spinnaker run.The Harty Ferry Inn was our evening venue with the Whitstable Sea Scouts as our trot boat.

A short race was held on Sunday in a light breeze around the buoys in Whitstable Bay.  Again, close racing was had by all.

I wholeheartedly recommend this event - the racing was enjoyed by everyone, in good spirit, and a lot of fun.  The prize giving took place at Conyer Cruising club.

I look forward to seeing more familiar faces next year!  John Pollitt, Cruiser Captain
