WYC Wannabees are heading to the KSSA Spring Training Day at HBSC on 11th April

KSSA LogoA squad of Whitstable Yacht Club cadet sailors are heading to the Kent School Sailing Association training day at Herne Bay SC on Saturday April 11th. The event, open to any Junior who can sail a triangular course in any dinghy class (single or double handers), has excellent coaching and is very close by, so a fantastic opportunity for the WYC Wannabees to sharpen up (or try to remember) their sailing skills early in the sailing season! Paul McNally (paulmcnally@btconnect.com) is coordinating the WYC group, and it would be great to see a good turnout from our cadets, so please contact him if your family is thinking of attending. Details on times and signing up are on the KSSA website at kssa.co.uk/1entryform/Eventpages/Event_2.html

Beautiful day for some pre-season training at WYC!

Pre-season sail at WYC
The wonderful weekend weather held today, despite the rather dull forecast, and we got in a great day of pre-season training. In the Race Tower, John Boorman finished the Race Officer training with live race starts, and on the water members of the Laser, Topaz and Tasar fleets took part in short races to blow away the winter cobwebs! Thanks to John for the RO training, Peter Gowing for organising the sailors, and Richard Earland and Robert Govier in the training rib laying marks and keeping an eye on the sailors. For more photos, see the club Facebook page
