Laserfest, our annual celebration of Laser/ILCA racing took place over the weekend July 13/14th with a strong entry of 40 boats. Laserfest was conceived as an event to increase participation of Whitstable’s Laser sailors but it also attracted entries from as far as Yorkshire together with a range of more local clubs.
Saturday saw great racing conditions and wall to wall sunshine whilst Sunday proved a little more of a challenge with fickle winds and strong tide. Congratulations to the winner Finlay Cochrane from Yorkshire Dales, runner up Kevin Hall from WYC and George Massingham 3rd overall, 1st radial and 1st youth sailor.
