Enter Whitstable Week 2026 now – the club’s biggest racing and social event of the year runs between Wednesday July 29 and Sunday August 2.
It’s five days of racing and socials rather than a traditional week-long regatta to allow those short of holiday to take part.
Racing is in the afternoon every day this year allowing those with morning commitments to still take part. It’s a ten race series with two races a day with one start and handicaps based on average times – there are two discards once six or more races are held meaning you can miss a day and still get a result.
After racing there’s time for a relaxed drink on the veranda before the evening social – feel free to order a takeaway or bring your own supper.
Whilst there’s competitive racing at the front of the fleet, sailors of all abilities are encouraged to take part – last year a large proportion of those who took part were not regular racers.
The Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions are available via the Whitstable Week webpage: https://www.wyc.org.uk/whit-week/
You can enter for the week or enter for a day and there are great discounts for helms under 18.
There are social events on every night including a quiz, lots of live music and an oysters and fizz event kindly sponsored by Holidaycottages.co.uk. There’ll be more information about the socials next week.
